Helping you take your life back.
Weight loss is tough. Getting help doesn’t have to be.
Deciding to pursue weight loss surgery isn’t easy, that’s why we’re here.
The Minimally Invasive Alliance. Building a healthy community through education.
We understand the struggle. According to the Center of Disease Control, nearly 1 in 3 Americans are overweight. Obesity is directly associated with many health problems, ranging from diabetes to stroke, congestive heart failure, coronary or cardiovascular disease. Often people turn to bariatric surgery when other options, such as diet and exercise, have failed to give them the results they need to live a healthier and happier life. Traditionally, weight loss surgery used to require a large incision which ran from the breastbone to just above the belly button.
Minimally invasive bariatric specialists with the Minimally Invasive Surgical Alliance can now perform weight loss surgery in a much less invasive way, requiring no or small incisions, depending on the type of surgery selected. The ability to treat obesity through minimally invasive techniques considerably reduces the chance of bleeding, infection and more serious complications, while allowing for less tissue damage, less pain, less complications, faster recovery and better outcomes.

Bariatric Minimally Invasive Procedures
The balloon procedure, also known as the gastric balloon procedure or endoscopic intragastric balloon procedure, is a minimally invasive procedure in which a silicon balloon is placed into the patient’s stomach and inflated, leaving less room for food.
Gastric bypass is a procedure used to assist in treating obesity and other weight-related conditions. During the procedure, the surgeon is able to decrease the space in the stomach, while bypassing part of the digestive system to ultimately decrease the amount of food and calorie absorption.
NOTES MINI SLEEVE
Performed by Dr. Todd McCarty using a minimally invasive approach called Natural Orifice Trans-endoluminal Endoscopic Surgery or NOTES, this innovative procedure reduces the size of the stomach by creating a mini “sleeve.”
Surgical revisions performed by specialists at the Minimally Invasive Surgical Institute are used to assist bariatric patients with previous gastric procedures, and addresses any leaks, corrective revisions or other concerns that may have occurred.

BILIOPANCREATIC DIVERSION WITH DUODENAL SWITCH
The Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch (BPD/DS) is a procedure performed by first decreasing the size of the stomach, and second bypassing a large portion of the small intestine. This reduces the amount of room for food in the stomach, thus decreasing the amount of calories and nutrients absorbed.
